Yaw Sarpong denies affair with Tiwaa, responds to ex-wife’s allegations

Renowned gospel musician Yaw Sarpong has vehemently denied allegations made by his ex-wife, Adwoa Pinamang, suggesting he is romantically involved with his colleague singer and partner, Tiwaa.

The accusations, which have stirred significant controversy in recent days, were made during an interview with Oyerapa FM, where Pinamang claimed she was prevented from caring for her ailing husband.

Adwoa Pinamang accused Tiwaa of “snatching” her husband and accused Yaw Sarpong’s family of supporting Tiwaa in assuming the role of a wife. However, Yaw Sarpong, who has been facing health challenges, responded by providing his side of the story, revealing that his marriage with Pinamang effectively ended two decades ago when she abandoned him and their children.

In his detailed rebuttal, Sarpong explained that their marriage was never legally formalized, noting that he had only performed traditional rites, which included presenting a bible, soft drinks, and a ring. He recounted how Pinamang left him and their children to relocate to Kumasi while he was seriously ill, leaving the family in a difficult situation.

Yaw Sarpong expressed surprise at Pinamang’s recent claims of being his legitimate wife and her purported efforts to care for him, emphasizing that they have had no contact over the past twenty years. He suggested that her renewed interest might be influenced by a recent GH¢100,000 gift he received from Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.

Despite the allegations and the turmoil they have caused, Sarpong stated that he has moved on from his past and intends to address and resolve all outstanding issues with his ex-wife amicably.
