We have not approached A-Plus to caucus with NPP – Justin Kodua
The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has refuted claims made by the Member of Parliament-elect for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, regarding the NPP’s alleged efforts to align with him in Parliament.
In a statement signed by Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party emphasized, “The NPP has not met with A Plus, nor has it authorized anyone to convey any message to him on its behalf.”
The denial follows a Facebook post by A Plus, in which he claimed that the NPP, led by Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, had officially approached him to discuss forming an alliance in Parliament.
A Plus further stated that the proposal included a commitment from the NPP not to contest the Gomoa Central parliamentary seat in the 2028 election.
A Plus won the Gomoa Central seat as an independent candidate in the 2024 parliamentary elections, defeating both the NDC and NPP candidates.
His victory has made him a key figure in the new Parliament, where the NDC holds a significant majority with 183 seats out of 276 while the NPP has 88 seats with four independent candidates.
