Support Ghanaians selling Ghana abroad – MC Ogee to Ghana Consulate in NY

The General Manager of New York based Adinkra Multimedia, MC Ogee has called on the Ghana Consulate in New York in the United States of America, to offer the little support they can to Ghanaians who are projecting the country abroad.

His comment follows a plea by Keymama, the leader of the Ghana National Parade Council, organizers of the GhanaFest event in New York, who in an interview on Adinkra Radio, called on the Ghana Mission in New York to support such laudable initiatives with logistics and other forms of support as the event celebrates Ghana’s history and showcases the country’s rich culture.

She lamented how sometimes persons like her who are doing everything possible to project Ghana are frustrated by state officials.

Adding his voice to the call, MC Ogee said supporting such good initiative is the best way to sell Ghana to the world and get tourists to visit the country so Ghana can generate some revenue.

“Please support those who are pushing the Ghana agenda abroad. We don’t have to do politics before we get something from the state. What is painful is that when you go to any community here in America, especially Jamaicans…me, especially, I once took a proposal to the Jamaican Consulate and was given support. So why can’t the Ghana Consulate do same for Ghanaians who are pushing the Ghana agenda abroad.

“Sometimes, it takes just a dollar to make a difference. The Consulate could have told the organizer that we cannot pay for an artist to come and perform, but we can pay for a D.J, or provide water for the event. Even if funds will not come from the Consulate’s coffers, at least it should come from the leaders there. Please do something to help Ghanaians doing a good course. Let us also enjoy the state funds because we are the same people here abroad who will send items to Ghana and pay taxes at the port,” MC Ogee stated.
