Popular Ghanaian lawyer found dead in Dubai hotel
Lawyer in private practice and partner at leading Ghanaian law firm, AB & David Africa, Nana Serwah Godson-Amamoo, has died in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.
Ms Godson-Amamoo is reported to have gone scuba diving, which is a mode of underwater diving in which divers use breathing equipment that is completely independent of a surface breathing gas supply, and therefore have a limited variable endurance. She collapsed shortly upon return to her hotel and died afterward.

She represented clients on natural resources, energy, mining, and other extractive-related matters and advised on all legal and strategic aspects of the energy and extractives business including acquisitions, deal structuring, negotiation support and implementation, project development, joint ventures, and local content matters within these sectors.
Ms Godson-Amamoo also headed the firm’s Government Business and Regulation Practice Group, where she consulted on public sector organizational and policy reform assignments. She assisted African governments with the development of industry legislation, capacity building, and support for the improvement of systems and people.
