NPP approves timelines for Manhyia South Parliamentary primary

The New Patriotic Party has approved the timelines for holding a parliamentary primary
election at Manhyia South for the by-election following the nomination of Hon. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the party’s running mate for the 2024 general election.

The approved timelines are as follows:
Nominations will be opened on Monday, July 8, 2024.
Closing of Nomination: Tuesday, July 9, 2024
Election: Sunday, July 14, 2024

Aspiring Parliamentary Candidate (APC) shall procure nomination forms after the payment of a non-refundable application fee of GHC 3,000.00 in bankers draft in favour of the New Patriotic Party National Headquarters, Accra.

To successfully file the nomination, an APC shall pay a non-refundable filing fee of thirty-five thousand Ghana cedis (GHC35, 000.00) in Bankers Draft in favour of the New Patriotic Party National Headquarters, Accra.

However, women, youth, and persons with disabilities (PWDs) will receive a 50% rebate on the filing fees. This means they will be required to pay a nonrefundable filing fee of seventeen thousand and five hundred Ghana cedis (GHC 17,500.00). To ensure clarity, we define a youth as an individual between the ages of 18 and 40.

No individual shall be denied access to purchase nomination forms.

The Elections Committee (EC) shall comprise the following persons:
Danquah Smith Butey, Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, vice chairman, Patricia Appiagyei, Member, Martha Kodua, Member, Evans Nimako, Secretary, Chairperson of the Constituency Council of Elders; and All Constituency Executives (Ex-Officio Members).

The party has also approved detailed rules and regulations to govern the conduct of the
parliamentary primary election, which will be made available to stakeholders.

Nomination forms will be available for purchase at the constituency party office.
