Mop-up voter registration exercise starts today, EC expects to register about 700,000 voters

The Electoral Commission (EC) begins a mop-up voter registration exercise from Thursday (1 August) to Saturday (3 August).

The exercise will take place at the 268 district offices of the Electoral Commission, 26 public universities and 41 prison centres across the country.

A statement issued by the EC said the exercise will start at 7am to 6pm each day.

“The Commission projects to register between 50,000 and 70,000,” the statement said.
