Mahama’s 24 hour economy policy is a brilliant idea, it will make Ghana a better place – Mickey Charles
Former President of Techiman City FC and a strong member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Charles Ntim, also known as Mickey Charles has described the party’s Flagbearer John Mahama’s 24-hour policy which will be implemented when he assumes power, as a brilliant initiative.
According to him, the policy when implement will turn the country’s economy around and will have positive impact of the living conditions of the Ghanaian people as more jobs will be created across Ghana in a thriving economy.
Mr Mahama says the objective behind his proposed 24-hour economy initiative is to enable businesses to operate three shifts per day. To achieve this goal, he says the government and private sector will collaborate.
“The 24-hour economy is designed to create new employment opportunities, particularly for young people, address unemployment, and enhance living standards in Ghana.”
In a social media post, the NDC flag bearer, said his government will enact new laws to support businesses operating a 24 hour system in seven days (24/7), including labour laws and tax incentives.
Mickey Charles commenting further on the 24 hour economy policy in an interview with MC Ogee on New York-based Adinkra Radio described himself as a 24 hour policy advocate and expressed confidence that the policy will ensure the teeming unemployed youth get jobs to do.
“I’ve listened to GUTA which says Mahama’s 24 hour economy policy will be a game-changer for Ghana because it will create a lot of employment for many Ghanaian youth who are unemployed and I believe it will. I’ve also listened to NUGS who also welcome the policy saying it’s a good initiative which will boost the economy.
“John Mahama, has pledged to cut electricity tariffs and offer tax relief to businesses adopting a 24-hour economic model. Mr Mahama has promised to ensure security where businesses will be running the 24hour policy. That will mean that more youth will be employed into the police service to ensure there’s police visibility and enhanced security across the country.” Ghana will be a better place to live in when the 24 hour economy policy is implemented.”
