Kwabena Boateng sworn in as Ejisu MP

Kwabena Boateng, the recently elected MP for the Ashanti Region’s Ejisu seat, has taken the oath of office from Speaker of the House Alban Bagbin.

With 27,782 votes, or 55.8% of the total votes polled, Mr. Boateng won the recently held by-election.

Mr. Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, the independent candidate who came closest to him, garnered 21,534 votes, or 43.3% of the total.

The by-election was held following the demise of the former MP Mr. John Kumah.

After the administration of the oath, the speaker congratulated Mr Boateng on his election and announced to the house that “he is now honourable Kwabena Boateng.”

He added “Honourable member you are welcome to the house and I will give you your tools which you have to hold jealously tight.”
