“I’ve given up on pursuing him for a collaboration” – Amerado shares disappointment

Celebrated Ghanaian musician, Derrick Sarfo Kantanka, known in music circles as Amerado Burner, says he has ended his pursuit of a popular colleague musician for a collaboration.

The “Abotr3” hitmaker in an interview with MC Ogee on New York-based Adinkra Radio Entertainment show was however coy about naming the said musician insisting he wants to keep the person’s identity.

This was after the host asked him which musician he had a tough time getting to do a collaboration with.

“I can’t mention the musician’s name but up until now, I am still struggling to get the person to do a collaboration with me. No, in fact, I have given up. I pushed but it never worked out. He is a male, but I won’t mention his name. That musician is the reason why I started singing on my own. Because I knew I could do it. He’s a very popular musician who has been singing for a long time,” Amerado said.

He named Okyeame Kwame, Reggie Rockstone, Obrafuor, Edem and Sarkodie as musicians he looks up to as mentors.

“I like Okyeame Kwame for his decency and his affection for love, Edem for his ingenuity, he always representing his roots. Sarkodie for being very charismatic, Reggie Rockstone for his flair and Obrafo for his vintage flow.”

The “Tintontan” singer added that he’s very selective when it comes to people he loves.

“I am very particular about people I love. I just don’t love like that. I love people for how impactful they are in my life.”
