I have performed better than Akufo-Addo before he became MP – A Plus

Musician turned politician, Kwame Asare Obeng aka APlus, has said he has done so much for his constituents better than President Akufo-Addo did for his constituents prior to the latter becoming a Member of Parliament.

In an interview with the media after he launched his campaign for the position of Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central on Monday, August 5, 2024, at Gomoa Ekwamkrom attended by hundreds of supporters, A Plus said his unprecedented achievements in the constituency are visible for all to see.

“What I have done in the past one year, Nana Addo didn’t do a drop of it before he became MP for Akyem Abuakwa South. He didn’t do anything close to that before he became President of Ghana. It is a fact and he knows it. I have spent my money on this constituency, I have spent so much resources on this constituency. I have built roads, I have provided water for people.

“When Akufo-Addo became MP, his hometown didn’t have water. He couldn’t give his people good drinking water. I have provided water for people that may not even vote for me and people in my constituency. So, I know that I have performed and I will perform some more if I have power and I know that the people are going see a new form of leadership when I am voted into power. What I will tell them [constituents] is that they should be part of history. History is about to be made. The first independence we had was from the white man, the new independence is from NPP and NDC,” A-Plus stated.

A Plus announced his intention to run for the Gomoa Central Parliamentary seat as an independent candidate on September 25, 2023, during the burial service of his father, Daniel Kwasi Obeng, in Winneba.

In his announcement, A Plus expressed confidence in his ability to win the seat and become the only independent candidate in Ghana’s Parliament by 2025.
