On the campaign trail in the Volta Region, former President John Mahama says the recent slip of tongue of leading members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) including President Akufo-Addo indicates that they have been harbouring him in their dreams.
The leader of the National Democratic Congress in reference to a quote in the scriptures descended in a full ribbing of his opponents’ thoughts and affection for him.
“Out of abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh so when the president goes and he is talking about his administration and he says ‘Akufo-Addo-Mahama administration, oh this is unpardonable’ it means he dreamt about me the night before,” he joked at a youth encounter as part of his Volta Regional Campaign Tour.
“And it’s not only him, even his chairman, Ashanti Regional Party Chairman, was he speaking Twi or English? he quizzed sarcastically.
Last month, President Akufo-Addo delivered a verbal gaffe when crediting himself and former President Mahama for his government’s successes.
Mr. Mahama urged Ghanaians to reject the ruling party in December by taking their “destiny into own hands. “
