Govt to acquire more dialysis machines – NHIA CEO
In order to assist with renal treatment, the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has announced that it will work with the government to purchase dialysis machines for a number of public hospitals.
According to Dr. Aboagye DaCosta, the Authority’s chief executive officer, the NHIA will fulfill its obligation to guarantee that everyone has access to basic healthcare.
Starting Monday, June 3, the NHIA started offering kidney patients receiving dialysis at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital its support program.
According to Dr. Aboagye DaCosta, the government has a well-defined strategy to maintain the assistance program that aims to assist renal patients throughout the nation.
“The government do have a clear sustainability plan which will be unveiled and as I have it even includes seeing how we can support some facilities with dialysis machines, and how we can move on to the other forms.
“It is a comprehensive one so this will even serve as a learning for us in improving what we are going to put in place as a government.”
