Ghana’s Black Sherif wins Best International Flow at 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards.
Reigning Ghana Artiste of the Year Black Sherif has secured his first BET award in the Best International Flow category at the 2023 Hip Hop Awards.
Black Sherif beat off competition from nine other renowned rappers. Notable competitors included the late Aka and K.O from South Africa, as well as Sampa The Great from Zimbabwe. The international roster of nominees also featured Gazo (France), Central Cee (UK), J Hus (UK), Major Rd (Brazil), Ninho (France), and Tasha & Tracie (Brazil).
This victory marks Black Sherif’s first BET award, adding another accolade to his illustrious career. He was previously nominated in the same “Best International Flow” category in the 2022 edition but narrowly missed out on the award, which went to Benjamin Epps.
The 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards ceremony was recorded in Atlanta on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, and is scheduled to be broadcast live on October 10. Congratulations and celebratory messages have been pouring in from fellow artists and well-wishers for Black Sherif, who clinched the top award at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards last year.
Black Sherif has become the second Ghanaian artiste to win the Best International Flow award, following in the footsteps of Sarkodie, who achieved this feat in 2019.
Black Sherif’s triumph underscores his growing influence and recognition in the international music scene, solidifying his status as a rising star in the global hip-hop landscape.
