Fire guts Kantamanto market, several shops destroyed
A section of the Kantamanto Market in Accra was gutted by fire on Wednesday, January 2, 2025.
A video of the incident shared on the social media platform X shows the fire consuming shops and various items worth thousands of Cedis.
The cause of the fire, which started at dawn, is not immediately known.
Thirteen fire tenders have been deployed to the scene to bring the fire under control and eventually extinguish it.
The Kantamanto Market, located in the Central Business District of Accra, has experienced several fire incidents in the past.
