Ernest Nuamah, Djiku, Gideon Mensah Return as Otto Addo Names Squad for Sudan Doubleheader

Coach Otto Addo has named a 25-man squad for Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan. Defenders Alexander Djiku and Gideon Mensah make their return after missing the previous qualifiers against Angola and Niger.

Isaac Afful, the FC Samartex left-back, earns his first call-up following his standout performances in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League and the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

Also back in the squad are Olympique Lyon forward Ernest Nuamah and Atalanta’s Ibrahim Sulemana, both of whom have recovered from injuries that kept them out of last month’s qualifiers.

Ghana is set to face Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, October 11, before heading to Libya for the reverse fixture at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Benina on Tuesday, October 14, 2024.

Here is the full squad called up by Otto Addo for the game:
