Election 2024: NDC launches manifesto today
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will launch its manifesto for the December 7 elections today, Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Winneba in the Central Region.
Dubbed the People’s Manifesto, it is designed to reset the future of the Ghana we all aspire to build, the party said.
The manifesto is expected to outline the priorities necessary to create an equitable and inclusive Ghana, where opportunities are accessible to all.
“It envisions a Ghana where every one of the 16 regions receives its fair share of the national resources, ensuring that, together with John Dramani Mahama, Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, and the NDC, we can build a prosperous nation,” Joyce Bawah Mogtari, aide to Mahama, said.
In a Facebook post, she stated, “We aim to reset our economy for growth, our infrastructure for development, and our governance systems to ensure transparency, accountability, and the end of corruption.
“Our educational system needs a reset to make it inclusive for all, and our governance structures must be reformed to eliminate political bias and partisanship, establishing a fair system rooted in meritocracy and equity.
“Ghana’s healthcare system needs a reset. Ghana’s banking system needs a reset. Our agricultural sector needs a reset. With these changes, we can alleviate poverty, reduce hardship, and provide jobs and better employment for all—not just a small clique of corrupt family and friends.”
She called on all Ghanaians to unite in Winneba with John Mahama and the NDC to launch the 2024 Manifesto to reset and restore Ghana and reinvigorate confidence in the country’s democracy.
