Dansoman residents attack Fire Service officers for failing to fight fire

Residents of Dansoman Roundabout near Zodiac in Accra, attacked fire officers after they reportedly arrived at the scene of a fire incident without their fire tender to deal with the spreading fire.

In a video shared on social media platform X, by EDHUB, angry residents are seeing slapping some fire service officers for their inability to douse the raging fire which had gutted a residential facility.

In 2023, The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) threatened to blacklist communities that manhandle officers in the line of duty.

This followed a disturbing incident at the O.A. Travel and Tours terminal at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle where unidentified individuals incensed by the alleged delay in the Fire Service’s response to a fire emergency resorted to pelting the fire tenders with stones.

It took the intervention of the police service to restore calm and allow the firefighters to get to work.
