Court demands accused person who threatened to harm public officials

The Ghana Police Service today, 13th September, 2024 arraigned the accused person, Mohammed Ibrahim who threatened to harm some public officials before the court in Accra.

He was remanded into Police custody to re-appear on 26th September, 2024.

Police investigation into the case continues.

The Ghana Police Service has today, 11th September, 2024 arrested suspect Ibrahim Mohammed for threatening to shoot and harm some public officials.

The suspect, was declared wanted on 9th September, 2024 after the video in which he was seen issuing the threats went viral.

According to a terse press statement issued by the Police “he is currently in Police custody and will be taken through the due process of the law.

The Ghana Police Service on September 11, 2024 arrested suspect Ibrahim Mohammed for threatening to shoot and harm some public officials.

The suspect, was declared wanted on 9th September, 2024 after the video in which he was seen issuing the threats went viral.

Background:

The Ghana Police Service two days ago launched a manhunt the suspect who was captured in a widely circulated video issuing violent threats against several public officials.

The suspect, who identified himself as “Commander Kanawu Revolution Leader,”is seen in the video threatening to shoot and harm key figures, including the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), George Akuffo Dampare, and the Interior Minister, Henry Quartey.

The police placed a GH₵50,000 bounty on him.

In the video, he accuses the IGP and the Interior Minister of orchestrating false recruitment into the Ghana Police Service.
