Rawlings’ death: Ghana has lost a colossus – Bawumia
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia says former President Jerry John Rawlings’ role in Ghana’s political history is carved in stone.
According to him, Ghana has lost a colossus following the death of the former President.
Dr. Bawumia made this known in a post via his social media handles to commiserate with the family of Mr. Jerry John Rawlings.
“I have heard with shock the passing of Former President Jerry John Rawlings. His Excellency Jerry John Rawlings’ role in the political history of Ghana is indelible, his fight for the poor and his impact on national cohesion and discipline is unforgettable.”
“Ghana has lost a colossus and his fond memories will forever live.”
He thus extended his condolences to the family of the late former President.
“My condolences to the former First Lady, Her Excellency Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, the children, the allied families and the nation as a whole.”
About Rawlings’ death
Former President, Jerry John Rawlings passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020.
He died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where he was receiving treatment for ill-health.
