Power outages: No need for load shedding timetable – Energy Analyst

An Energy Analyst, Sampson Addai has disagreed with calls for a load shedding timetable in the wake of the current power outages being experience in parts of the country.

A section of the public has called for a load shedding time to be announced to enable them plan their activities.

However, Sampson Addai in an interview with New York-based Adinkra Radio stated that a load shedding timetable is unnecessary because the issue responsible for the power outages will be resolved in three days time.

“There is no need for any load shedding timetable. The maintenance work being undertaken by West Africa Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCo) will be completed in few days time. They have assured that the maintenance works will be completed latest by 6th March 2025 hence there’s no need for the timetable. The issues that were making the lights go off is being fixed. This is not like the government owes the Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and so our load as a country has been reduced. No, we have adequate power supply. Once that the maintenance work is over power will be restored uninterrupted.”
