PHOTOS: National Security intercepts 12 containers loaded with huge cache of US dollars, gold bars in Sapeiman raid

National Security operatives have intercepted huge amounts of U.S. dollars and Ghana cedi notes concealed in twelve 20-foot shipping containers during a high-stakes operation in the Ga West Municipality.

The containers were traced to a warehouse in Sapeiman, where authorities launched a special operation following a critical intelligence tip-off.

Upon inspection, officers discovered massive bundles of U.S. dollar notes hidden inside wooden boxes filled with cement. Further searches in the warehouse revealed additional cash stashed in compartments barricaded with plywood and sealed with charcoal.

Security officials report that while ten of the containers have been accounted for, two remain missing, with state security trackers actively pursuing their whereabouts.

Meanwhile, a manhunt is underway for four suspects linked to the operation, including a ringleader identified only as Alhaji.

The warehouse search also uncovered boxes of metals suspected to be gold bars, counterfeit Ghana cedi notes in ₵50 and ₵100 denominations, as well as fake Ghana Army uniforms and boots.

Authorities have intensified investigations to uncover the full network behind the operation.
