Govt urges Ghanaians to leave Lebanon as security deteriorates
With the security situation in Lebanon increasingly deteriorating, the Ghanaian government has strongly advised all of its people living there to evacuate the country as soon as possible.
The urgent evacuation order was issued due to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration’s grave worries about the possible harm to Ghanaian citizens in the midst of Lebanon’s worsening situation.
press release issued Friday by the Ministry highlights the “rapidly unfolding crisis” in Lebanon and asks Ghanaians to evacuate per the next available commercial flight still operating out of Lebanon, to avoid any emergencies.
Given the ongoing war with Israel and the continued deterioration of the situation, the government asked all to heed the call.
“Considering the deteriorating situation, the Government of Ghana encourages all Ghanaian nationals in Lebanon to take advantage of the limited available flights to immediately leave the country,” the statement from the Ministry read.
