God is speaking to Ghana with Bawumia taking no.1 slot – Kwamena Duncan
Former Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan, claims that God has sent a message to Ghanaians with the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, taking the first position on the presidential ballot paper for the upcoming December 7 general elections.
In a balloting exercise held by the Electoral Commission on Friday, September 20, 2024, for the 13 presidential candidates contesting the December 7 elections, the NPP secured the first spot, while the largest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), took the 8th position on the ballot.
During a panel discussion on Peace FM, which was monitored by GhanaWeb, Kwamena Duncan expressed concerns about the likelihood of a large number of spoiled ballots in the upcoming elections due to the unusually long list of candidates.
He noted, “Looking at our balloting processes from 1992 until now, I don’t think we’ve ever had as many as 13 presidential candidates. It’s a long list. Even when we had six candidates, we always recorded a significant number of spoiled ballots. Spoiled ballots have always ranked third after the two leading parties. Now, with 13 candidates, and considering the NDC’s position on the ballot, I worry. The NDP is placed above the NDC and has similar green colors, while GUM is below the NDC. The colors of these parties are not strikingly different. If we experienced huge numbers of spoiled ballots with five or six names on the ballot, how much more with 13” he quizzed?
Despite his concerns, Kwamena Duncan expressed confidence that the NPP’s first-place position gives them a strong advantage. He believes that this positioning is divinely orchestrated.
“This is the clearest advantage for the NPP. The position of the NPP on the ballot is divine and the work of God. The Lord placed the NPP in the first position because He knows Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is special and is meant to lead the list of presidential candidates,” Duncan remarked.
He further emphasized, “What happened last Friday during the balloting was orchestrated by the Spirit of God. Through this positioning on the ballot, God is sending a message to Ghanaians that this is the path to follow. God has chosen Bawumia to lead Ghana. And, coincidentally, the NPP’s position is the same for all 276 parliamentary candidates; they will also appear in the first position on the ballot.”
