Member of Parliament for Walewale, Hon Lariba Zuweira Abudu has withdrawn from the Parliamentary primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Her decision to withdraw from the race is to allow peace to reign in the political party ahead of the 2024 election.
Announcing her decision in a statement, she thanked the political party for the support over the last four years and assured them of her support in the 2024 election.
The New Patriotic Party’s National Executive Committee was expected to meet on Wednesday September 11 to decide on the way forward in the constituency.
This was after a rerun of the race ordered by the Tamale High Court ended up being annulled after ballot boxes were snatched.
The party has decided to support the decision to arrest people involved in the ballot box snatching.
