King Promise to headline 15th annual GhanaFest event in New York on Saturday August 3
Award-winning highlife and Afrobeats musician King Promise is set to headline this year’s GhanaFest program in New York, in the United States of Accra.
This year’s event, which marks the 15th anniversary, will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the Crotona Park in the Bronx.
The program starts at noon.
Keymama, the leader of the Ghana National Parade Council and organizers of the event, in an interview with MC Ogee on New York-based Adinkra Radio, urged Ghanaians in New York and other states to patronize the event, which will be an exciting display of rich Ghanaian culture.
“I call on Ghanaians in the US to make it a point to attend this annual important event, which will put our rich culture on display. Sadly, a lot of other nationals are taking over the event as they come in huge numbers. This is our program as Ghanaians, and so I encourage all of us to be there as we celebrate Ghana and showcase our culture to the world,” Keymama stated.
She further called on the Ghana Mission in New York to support such laudable initiatives with logistics and other forms of support as the event showcases the country.
GhanaFest®️ was created to celebrate the history and culture of Ghana to the children and families of the diaspora.
It informs the public about Ghana’s rich cultural heritage while embracing the unique togetherness that exists between the United States and Ghana. With the local chieftains, queen-mothers, princes, princesses, and other court members strolling majestically in lavish regalia while drummers beat out rhythmic songs, GhanaFest is brimming with essence.
African arts and crafts are on exhibit and for sale by vendors, and local food is served with equal generosity as the welcome.
This annual event is filled with dancing, cheer, art, enthusiasm, and most importantly, gratitude for the richness of harmony.
