NPP NEC meets on Thursday on naming of Napo as running mate
The National Executive Committee and National Council of the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) are set to convene meetings on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at different times.
The National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting is scheduled as
follows:
Date: Thursday, July 4, 2024 Time: 2:00 p.m.
Venue: Asante Hall, Alisa Hotel
The National Council (NC) meeting is scheduled as follows:
Date: Thursday, July 4, 2024 Time: 3:00 p.m.
Venue: Asante Hall, Alisa Hotel.
Party sources say the main agenda for both meetings is the Flagbearer of the party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s nomination of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as his running mate for the December 7 general election 2024.
Meanwhile, Dr. Bawumia on Monday 1st July, 2024, formally informed National Officers of the NPP of his nomination of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) as his running mate.
The meeting which occurred at the NPP’s headquarters in Asylum Down follows an earlier presentation of Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s nomination to the majority caucus of Parliament.
The nomination however, awaits the decision of the National Council which is the final approving organ of the NPP.
