2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers: We deserved a point against Angola – Otto Addo

Black Stars coach, Otto Addo, believes that his side deserved at least a draw in their game against Angola.

Ghana in their opener of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers were stunned by the Palancras Negras at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday September 5, 2024.

Both teams largely struggled to maintain possession on the very bumpy pitch which was a situation that drew the attention of Otto Addo and Angola head coach Pedro Goncalves.

However, Felicio Milson scored in additional time to end Ghana’s 24-year-old unbeaten run at the Baba Yara Stadium.

But Addo believes that his team deserved at least a draw from the game.

“We were lucky maybe a little bit even though we deserved to win in Mali I think but there we scored the goal and now it’s Angola who scored the goal and I think at least a draw would have been deserved but this is football,” he told the press after the game.

The Black Stars will now shift their focus to their upcoming second Group F match against Niger on Monday, September 9, in Berkane, as Otto Addo and his team aim to recover from this disappointing home defeat.
