Chaos erupted on the University of Ghana campus, specifically at the Business School, which serves as the collation center for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency.
A video posted on social media platform X, shows ballot boxes being destroyed, leaving ballot papers scattered.
According to reports a vehicle arrived at the collation center carrying ballot boxes with several ballot papers inside.
Upon suspicion, supporters of the NDC insisted on inspecting the boxes, where they discovered irregularities and subsequently destroyed them.
Counting and results declaration are underway following the closure of polls at 5 p.m. across most polling centers in the country.
The 2024 elections took place across 276 constituencies in the country, with the process being largely peaceful. However, pockets of violence have been recorded, with one person confirmed dead in the Tolon Constituency in the Northern Region.
The Electoral Commission has meanwhile urged Ghanaians and political parties to exercise patience as they execute their mandate of delivering a successful election.
